The short version
J & J Lawn & Land Clearing only collects what you type into the "Ask for a visit" form, or what you tell us on the phone to set up a visit, and only uses it to schedule and do your work and to bill you for it. We do not sell it and we do not use it for ads. Our website deletes visit details after 12 months, and invoices after 7 years because they are tax records.
What we collect
When you send the "Ask for a visit" form, we keep:
- Your name
- Your phone number
- The address where you need the work done
- What you need, and the best day and time to reach you
- Anything you choose to add in the note box
If you call us instead
If you set up a visit by phone, we type your name, phone number, the job address, what you need and the day and time into our private scheduling page. We keep it the same way, and for the same time, as a request sent through the form. If your visit repeats (for example, every week), we keep your details while it keeps repeating, and delete them within 12 months after it stops.
Invoices
After we do work for you, we may make an invoice with your name, phone number, the job address, the work we did, the price, and how and when you paid. We text you a private link to see it. Anyone who has that link can open your invoice, so please do not share it. The link stays off search engines.
You pay us in person. Our website does not take card numbers or bank details, and it only records the way you paid (for example, cash or check). We keep invoices for 7 years for tax records, then our website deletes them.
What happens in the background
To stop spam and keep the form from being flooded, our website briefly uses your internet address (IP address). We store it only as a scrambled code that cannot be turned back into your address, and we delete it within two hours.
When you type in an address box, what you have typed so far is sent to Google so it can suggest matching addresses. Google handles that under its own privacy policy. Nothing else from the form is sent to Google, and you can always type your address without picking a suggestion.
The form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, a spam check from Cloudflare. It looks at basic information from your browser to tell people from bots. It does not show ads or follow you to other websites.
Our website is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare handles the technical details of each visit so the page can load.
Cookies
We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. Our own website sets no cookies for visitors. The only cookie we set keeps the business owner signed in to his private business pages. The Cloudflare spam check may store a small amount of technical information in your browser so it can tell people from bots.
How we use your information
We use it to call or text you back about your visit, to plan and schedule the work, to send you an invoice, and to keep a record of the job. We contact you only about your visit and your invoice.
Who sees it
Only the owners of J & J Lawn & Land Clearing. Cloudflare stores it for us as our website provider. A copy of each request is also emailed to the business inbox so we can call you quickly, which means our email provider holds that copy too. We do not sell your information or share it with anyone else, unless the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Our website deletes visit details automatically 12 months after they are made.
Invoices are deleted automatically 7 years after they are made.
The email copy stays in the business inbox until we delete it. We clear out old request emails at least once a year, and we will delete yours sooner if you ask.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you, fix, or delete what we have about you at any time. Call us at (317) 762-0826 and we will take care of it.
Children
This website is for adults arranging work on their property. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Photos on this site
The photos show our own work. Removed photos are kept for 30 days in case they were removed by mistake, then deleted for good.
Changes
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
